Key Stages One and Two

Everything Dinosaur delivers tailored workshops targeted at Year 1 through to Year 6 enabling pupils to experience the principles of scientific method and to explore scientific concepts through a fascination with prehistoric animals and fossils.  Our trained and qualified teachers have prepared a number of innovative and enriching lesson plans based around observation, enquiry, investigation and working scientifically.  The aim of these practical sessions is to engage and involve young people with the fascinating subject of Earth Sciences.

Working under the concept of “Dinosaur detectives” we use real case studies regarding new fossil discoveries to develop effective and very “hands on” dinosaur themed teaching schemes.

Extension activities include encouraging independent learning.

Everything Dinosaur’s trained team members explain how fossils are formed, explore deep geological time and through their science teaching they encourage a deeper understanding of a wide range of scientific ideas. Taking measurements, recording data, predicting outcomes and developing theories, our workshops engage, enthuse and help to develop the concept of working scientifically.

Lessons are designed to help support other areas of the national curriculum including literacy and numeracy.  Team members are happy to provide extension activities including KS1 resources that help reinforce learning and recall.
